Volcafé was founded in 1851 and is one of the oldest and largest green coffee traders in the world. For its headquarters in Winterthur, the company was looking for a new workplace concept along with a suitable spatial design to match.
By transitioning to a “desk-sharing” model, Trispace was able to demonstrate through usage studies that a 40% reduction in space was possible while simultaneously increasing collaborative areas.
From a design perspective, the ripeness of the coffee cherry was reflected through a range of different color nuances on the walls. “The journey of a bean” illustrates the various stages of the bean, from harvesting and roasting to the brewed coffee. The design is immersive and offers a wide spectrum of different spatial atmospheres.
